The Illinois Bar Foundation welcomes you and your guest(s) to join our exclusive Journey to Greece. We are based in Athens, the birthplace of democracy, arts, science and philosophy of Western Civilization. Home of Plato, Socrates, Pericles, Euripides, Sophocles, Aeschylus. 

We make Athens our home base April 18-22, 2027 in one of the world's oldest cities. Athens has a recorded history spanning 3.400 years and has been inhabited since the 11th millennium B.C.   Enjoy a DAY TRIP to Delphi on April 21st or do your own thing and explore Athens on your own.

Our fascinating educational programs are designed for lawyers and non-lawyers alike with a member-guided tour of the Hellenic Parliament, the unicameral legislature of the Greece as well as a visit to the Supreme Court of Greece.  Other program highlights include a food tasting tour, beverage tastings and visits to  thriving art communities. Our group receives privileged access to historical sites as well as local nightlife & private entertainment.  

Enhance your adventure with a 5-night Extension April 22 - 27, 2027. Jet from Athens to Santorini for a 2-night stay.  Sail /fly from Santorini to Crete for 2 more nights before flying back to Athens.  End your journey with an overnight in Athens April 26 - 27, 2027 and enjoy another evening on your own before catching departing flights the next day.

Of course, no visit to Greece is complete without a thorough immersion into Authentic Greek cuisine. Our group meals will be selected for their quality and diversity with curated food and beverage tastings.

Please Note:  This program will require walking on uneven and sometimes hilly cobblestone streets and stairs where an elevator is not always available. Participants must be able to walk unassisted.

Please note: Package prices may increase for signups received after December 1, 2026 due to a limited number of rooms and services available at negotiated group rates.   

Would you like to arrive early and start the tour fully refreshed?   If participants elect to arrive ahead of the program start date, the hotel will customarily extend the negotiated group rate. We kindly ask that requests for additional nights be made at least 60 days prior to arrival as the hotel may not honor group rates for last-minute requests.   Please send your request to team@cle-abroad.com. 72-Hour Cancellation Window
Participants may cancel within 72 hours of booking for a full refund, provided the booking is made at least 45 days prior to the program start date.

Payments are nonrefundable after the dates noted in the cancellation policy. Travel Insurance is always recommended. Cancellations are subject to the following schedule, based on the date the written cancellation request is received:

• Cancellations 120 days or more prior to the program start date (on or before December 19, 2026): Full refund.

• Cancellations between 119-90 days prior to the program start date (between December 19, 2026 and January 18, 2027): $1,000 administrative cancellation fee per participant will apply.

• Cancellations between 89-60 days prior to the program start date (between January 18, 2027 and February 17, 2027): 50% cancellation fee per participant will apply.

• Cancellations within 60 days of the program start date (after February 17, 2027): Full program cost. No refunds will be issued.

All cancellations must be made in writing via email to team@cle-abroad.com.

Participants may request future program credit instead of applicable refunds, subject to organizer approval. Any credits issued must be used within 18 months and are non-transferable.

Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance is highly recommended in case you are unable to travel and have incurred one of the cancellation penalties noted above.

Participants must review and acknowledge the full Terms and Conditions, including Cancellation Terms, at check-out.

Additional Services
Individually requested services (such as extra hotel nights or special arrangements) may be non-refundable once confirmed and paid.
