We engage with local experts, academics, officials and change makers who offer in-depth commentary on the Panama legal-political systems, economics, environmental justice, history, Afro-Panamanian history, identity, and contemporary issues, and religion.  Panama is best known for the Panama Canal, a vital waterway connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, but is also possesses extraordinary ecological wealth, with vast tropical rainforests, mountain ranges, and coastal ecosystems that harbor remarkable biodiversity and attract ecotourism. Its cultural identity is equally diverse, shaped by Indigenous traditions, African heritage, and Spanish colonial influences, resulting in a rich blend of customs, music, and cuisine. Collectively, these characteristics make Panama not only a vital hub of global commerce but also a nation of distinctive cultural and environmental significance. 

Our core 4-night core program makes home base in Casco Viejo, the old town of Panama City.

Add 3-nights with 2 nights in the small mountain town of Boquete, just a short flight from Panama City. Enjoy the lush, green mountain highlands along the Caldera River. We take a coffee tour in the picturesque cooler climate while relaxing and marveling at the natural beauty. Spend your final night in New Panama City to catch flights back to the USA on March 9th.

Please note: Package prices may increase for signups received after November 15, 2025 due to a limited number of rooms and services available at negotiated group rates.   

Please take note that airfare to/from Panama is not included.   Participants joining the Core 4-night program in Panama City should plan on arriving at the group hotel on March 2nd by 3pm. For those on the core Panama City program only, please plan on leaving from Panama City on March 6th. For those on the Boquete extension, please plan on departing from Panama City on March 9th.

Would you like to arrive early and start the tour fully refreshed? If participants elect to arrive ahead of the program start date, the hotel will customarily extend the negotiated group rate. If you have an early-morning arrival flight and wish to guarantee access to your hotel room immediately upon arrival, you will need to reserve the night prior to your arrival date. We kindly ask that requests for additional nights be made at least 60 days prior to arrival, as the hotel may not honor group rates for last-minute requests.
